The great thing about this hike is that you are out of the trees and on solid rock right away. This area is highly windswept and any snow is solid or only ankle deep.

We pushed on but also remembered to take in our surroundings on this beautiful day to snap a few photos.

There are only a couple of slightly technical sections of this climb. We got through them with ease. The snow was only an issue on one section near the top.

Wildlife! This bald eagle came by to say hello. It passed over us a few times. We were both quick on our cameras to capture it.

Summit! Clouds and snow were moving in. The temperature dropped and it was getting late in the day. We abandoned Loder peak, but not before enjoying the one beer that made it up to the top (I was silly and forgot my beer at home) and grabbing a few shots of the neighbouring mountains!

That was Door Jamb! I plan on returning in the summer to run it again. The goal is to connect Door Jamb, Loder, Goat Mountain, and Yamnuska! It seems possible, but I'll find out when I attempt it again!
